Open Edge Platform Release Cycle#
All Open Edge Components are developed with the cadence of one release per quarter. The unified release aims at keeping the components synchronized and properly inter-operational within one platform release.
The release cadence is reflected by the versioning scheme of “<year/major>.
The first relaese in a year marks the major version, which is expected to receive four minor versions throughout the year, versions “202X.0” through “202X.3.” If urgent or maintenance changes are published, they will constitute an additional patch release.
Certain components, although part of the catalog, retain their separate release cadence and versioning schemes. In such cases, a specific version of the component is ascribed to the given version of the platform to ensure compatibility.
Certain components are offered as weekly builds that facilitate adoption but may not hold full production value. If you are interested in the most recent changes, check the GitHub Discussions section.
